Billing & Refunds
Last updated: August 16, 2026
Summary:
- The quiz is free.
- The personalized report & prep plan is a one-time purchase you keep (an example currently advertised is $27 USD). It is not a trial of the whole product or of membership.
- A membership trial exists only if the checkout price screen explicitly states a trial (length, first membership charge date, and renewal price). If checkout does not show a trial, there is no trial.
- During a shown trial, membership access has no extra membership charge. Unless you cancel before the trial end date and time shown at checkout and in your confirmation, your payment method is charged the membership price shown at checkout (an example currently advertised is $37.99/month) and renews until canceled.
- Prices and plan names on this page are examples only. The checkout screen you accepted governs that transaction.
This page summarizes the billing terms that apply to the Services. The checkout terms you review and accept—including the exact price, any trial end date, first charge date, billing frequency, and cancellation method—are incorporated into this Policy and govern that transaction if they differ from a general example here. Your non-waivable rights under applicable law always remain in effect.
1. Prices and currency
Prices are displayed in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise and may exclude applicable taxes. Amounts and plan names on this page are informational examples. We may change prices prospectively; changes will not affect a completed one-time purchase already charged, but may apply to future subscription renewals after at least 30 days' advance notice, or any longer notice required by law. You may cancel before the new price takes effect.
2. Payment authorization
Completing checkout—including with Apple Pay, Google Pay, a saved card, one-tap checkout, or a similar method—is your electronic signature. You authorize us and our payment processor to (1) charge the amount due today, and (2) charge automatic renewals at the then-current price shown at checkout until you cancel. If checkout shows an introductory or discounted price, renewals are charged at the full renewal price shown at checkout, not the introductory price.
By completing a purchase, you also authorize our payment processor to store the payment method token. We do not store your full card number on our servers.
3. One-time report purchase
When you purchase the personalized report and prep plan, you authorize the one-time fee shown at checkout. Digital content may begin delivery immediately. You keep the report. Canceling membership later does not refund that one-time purchase.
4. Membership trial (only if shown)
A membership trial exists only if the checkout price screen explicitly states a trial, including the trial length, the date of the first membership charge, and the renewal price. If checkout does not show a trial, there is no trial.
When a trial is shown:
- During the trial, membership access has no extra membership charge.
- Unless you cancel before the trial end date and time shown at checkout and in your confirmation, your payment method is charged the membership price shown at checkout and renews until canceled.
- Trial reminders, if sent, are a courtesy. You remain responsible for canceling in time even if a reminder is delayed or not received.
We require affirmative consent to recurring-billing terms before a membership purchase and provide a confirmation that includes the material offer and cancellation terms.
5. Recurring membership
After a successful trial conversion, or if you subscribe without a trial, membership renews automatically each billing period until canceled. Each renewal charge covers the upcoming billing period. We do not obtain a new authorization before every renewal because your initial consent remains effective until you cancel, revoke authorization, or applicable law requires renewed consent.
Membership materials are educational preparation tools and are not legal advice. See our Legal Disclaimer.
6. Extra plans
Extra plans or upsells are separate purchases. Canceling one does not cancel the others. Each plan must be canceled on its own.
7. How to cancel
To turn off auto-renew:
- Go to Account → Payment & billing and select Manage billing (Stripe Customer Portal); or
- Email support@preparedchapter.com from the email used for the purchase or account, with the subject “Cancel membership.”
We send a confirmation. If you do not receive confirmation, contact support before the next charge.
Canceling disables auto-renew. Access continues through the then-current trial or paid period. Canceling membership does not refund the one-time report purchase.
Deleting your account, closing the browser, ignoring email, or unused access does not cancel a subscription.
8. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we may retry the charge and/or suspend access until payment succeeds. You remain responsible for amounts owed for periods already provided.
9. Refunds
Once a paid period has started and access was available, charges are generally non-refundable, except as required by law or as stated in the Money-Back Policy.
Nothing in this Policy limits statutory cancellation, withdrawal, or refund rights that apply in your place of residence. Where a jurisdiction grants a cooling-off or withdrawal right for digital services, we will honor it. If applicable law permits loss of that right after immediate delivery of personalized digital content, any such loss applies only after we obtain the express consent and acknowledgment required by that law. For consumer withdrawal questions, email support@preparedchapter.com.
10. Refund timing
Approved refunds are sent to the original payment method, normally within 10 business days after approval. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the credit. We will send confirmation when the refund is initiated.
11. Unauthorized or incorrect charges and chargebacks
Report an unauthorized, duplicate, or incorrect charge promptly to support@preparedchapter.com with the transaction details. We will investigate and cooperate with you and the payment provider. Contacting us first may resolve the issue faster, but nothing here restricts your right to dispute an unauthorized transaction with your bank or exercise rights under applicable payment laws. We may contest chargebacks where our records show the transaction was authorized and the purchased content or access was delivered.
12. Taxes, currency, and issuer fees
You are responsible for any applicable taxes. Where we are required to collect tax, it will be shown at checkout or charged as required by law. Your card issuer may impose currency-conversion or other fees that we do not control.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Billing & Refunds page. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes affecting renewals will be communicated as required by law.
